the aftermarket control arms are "too thin" but they are made of slightly thinner (and lighter weight) and for drag racing are preffered. If you plan on road racing like Dale said, they might be on the light side. There are kits available to box in the control arms to stiffen and strengthen them up if you are going that route.

The tubular arms look nice but boy are they spendy. I don't see why someone can't do it for less. I rebuilt my upper arms and would never do that again, I bought aftermarket lowers and modified them, removed the bushing and welded in a mono ball sleeve and bearing.
