I used to always use Permatex "Ultra Blue" instead of the cork intake end seals, but since finally trying the "right stuff", it`s my new favorite. I have used the corks on some FE intakes when using iron intake manifolds, but still perfer the goo in a tube. Apparently most auto manufacturers do too, some form of rubberish squeezed out sealant has replaced most conventional gaskets in modern car engines. And new cars are a lot more leak free than the old cars.
