All FE's have bushed rods. The rods and pins are the floater part. All pistons turn on the pin.
The compression ratio is a calculation of the head volume, the gasket volume, the piston deck height, the piston head volume and even the area of the piston to cylinder wall plus height divided by the stroke volume.
Your flat tops can be sitting pretty low in the cylinder.
At 30 over I would guess an after market piston.
