Response to high nichel content blocks

In fact the 428 CJ blocks are made from the same superior iron alloy that Ford used for its 240 CI 6 cylinder and its 302 - 2V that year.

There was no special block alloy for anything except the 427 block.

There was no special iron for crankshaft castings for any engine size. Ford used a crankshaft grade nodular iron formula which is NOT the same formula as the nodular iron formula that Ford used for axle cases or engine block main caps.
