Response to Absolutily, put in an FE BUT, if that an all original car

Id FE it, it looks cool and drives great with all the torque. While i do like the 289 in my mustang, and have had a fairlane with the 289, the 390's are a kick in the pants! I am putting a 67 GT engine in my car (with a 428 cranks) stock C7 heads and all.

Keep everything you remove!

Consider keeping the stock FE heads. W/ CJ valves, it will run really well, my head rebuild with stainless valves (PEP) and bronze guides and milling, cost about $750, not too bad. I did some port clean up myself. You only are behind about 35 lbs over EDL heads.

If the engine is in good shape, is should be an in-expensive re-build, even if its $100 to $125 for a sleeve. What happened to it anyway. You sure it needs a sleeve?
