I have let mine sit for as much a 10 months. Only keeping the battery charged.
1: Don't set your parking brake when you park it for a long time.
2: Spin it over enought to get oil pressure up before you try to get it to start. ( hopefully you have a guage )
3: Make certain nothing has leaked down when you start to start. (trans, water, and other fluids)
4: Go have fun when you do get it started. If yours is like mine it will be one honery son of a gun at first ( not wanting to idle ). Get some fresh gasoline in it quick.
