I've kept in contact with the farmer from who's barn I pulled the '69. He and I hit it off from the get go as I'm an old farm boy myself.
I called him this AM to say "Hi" and he told me he had been meaning to phone. Seems he found a few more parts as he was cleaning out his barn that he thought might be from the '69.
Sure enough, the original carb was in a Holley box, probably the same one that the double pumper came in. He also found the original wheels and tires that came on the car, as it was shod with Pro Trac tires and pitted, rusty Rocket mags as I found it. Of course the tires are shot, but the wheels will just need some cleaning to bring back.
He gave me the parts, true to his word that the price I paid for the car included "everything".
As an aside, I bought from him this AM an old 1948 Allis-Chalmers tractor, just about identical to the one I used to bale hay with! It runs but will need a resto.
Hmmmm. Wonder if anyone makes an adapter for a 390 into an Allis-Chalmers? Well, that's another post.
Thanks to all who responded. You guys are the greatest! |
