Response to As a new Ford engineer trainee, I got to see my first assembly plant |
| LOL!! Ya, no rocket science........or a few guys in Hot Rod t-shirts futz'n around with a floor jack and a hand full of wrenches LMAO!!!
Bolt it down, bend it into position and ship it.
My sister once worked on Team Mustang for a few years and I got a tour of the plant a number of years ago. Quite the operation to see a pile of stamped sheetmetal turn into a running car at the end. To this day my sister was amazed they even started at the end of the line LOL!!! All the constant changes, part numbers, people and running around...some how they run at the end. I've also had a personal tour of the Pickup assy back in the 90's. One of the best personal tours was the Romeo engine plant and watch Mod motors get assembled. I got the look/see at the hand built Ford GT motors also. They were put together in their own separate room, one at a time by a small group of people. Each motor was done by a pair of workers(start to end) and then a stamped tag was attached to the valve cover with their signatures. I have a "tag", but no motor to go with it(bummer huh?).
Cool to have a gearhead sister.
