I had a baseplate screw come out on my 390 Ranchero and the engine sputtered to a stop in hail of clattering. It closed up SEVEN spark plugs... one little screw in a dual plane intake with a one inch open spacer making the only route from upper to lower planes.
It put all kinds of dents in the cast pistons and broke two cylinder walls.
