This Issue is happening on my friend's forum The Falkirk Wheatsheaf (she posted here before about her site appearing garbled and I came to give links ...history as a point of reference).

Whisper came in to her forum to give some sad news of a passing of a Scottish Friend that many of us have known for years...but...then something really weird happened, part of all of the words within the post started it just disappear.

What we would like to know is someone playing pranks with the site? It is a whimsical thought, but I personally take afront that someone is messing with the man's memory.

I tried to read the source page, but could not find a code that would account for the "blinking out"...I have copied the source page in regards to the specific source and provided links to the forum's specific posts that appear to be "blinking out."

ok, there evidently is a problem with the scripting as it would not allow me to post due to unmatched tags...please look at the screen capture below for the information

Could this happen to have something to do with an error in the Google Ad Scripting??

Thank you for your assistance!

First of all, if you are posting HTML to look at, turn off the "Enabled formatted text" check box, it we try to interpret it. I have no idea what you mean by something to "do with an error in the Google Ad Scripting" -- I am assuming that you mean the message "unmatched tags" having to do with posting the source of a HTML page.

Now as far as your real message -- disappearing posts -- you mean that the post page itself is there, but words in it disappear?

The first line of the post disappears (M)

I logged out of my premier account & viewed it in IE. There's an ad right after the text of the post. Shortly after the ad script finishes running (or perhaps just before it finishes), the first line in the post disappears. Obviously, it doesn't happen when I'm logged in because the ad isn't there.

When I am logged in with my Premier Account, the whole post is there. Then I log out and visit "anonymously," half of the post is there for a minute and then...just frelling disapears!

ok, take this post:
If you are not logged in, you will click here to read this post found at:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/4564/message/1223344042/A+poem+to+Joyce

(the message reads):

what a wonderful poem he wrote those years ago and so fitting for today - it is over -

My old friend - you were special. Sleep well until you rise !

BUT, if you are not logged in, the ads are on the page and the line:
what a wonderful poem he wrote those years ago and so fitting for today - it is over -
is there for just a minute and then disappears leaving on the last part of the post:
My old friend - you were special. Sleep well until you rise !

If I am logged in, I do not see any ads, and the whoel post remains, no "blinking out."

If you look at the scripting source of that page, without the log in, it appears that there is a google ad stuck in the middle of the post (please see the img posted), but does not appear in the middle of the post, rather it appears to the bottom of the completed post.

Kewl effect for the end of the month during Halloween and I realyl would like to replicate it on my Forum (without the ads)...LOL...just to mess with the posters over there, but, on the Falkirk Wheatsheaf (Forum 4564), they take these sort of things differently. Basically, you are dealing with Scots and they think differently...LOL.

So, if you can tell me what exactly is going on, I can explain it to Whisper and let her deal with it in the manner she wishes to. You will see that she did indeed ask me to help her out.

Thank you Steve and AnitaS..it is nice to have someone interested enough to take a look.

I imagine Steve can shed more light onto it when he gets a chance, but in the meantime (M)

I would recommend that she take a good look at all the HTML on her forum & make sure all her tags are closed properly. To me it looks like it's related to the Google ad script, BUT since it's only happening on that forum, it's likely that there's something in that forum that's 'confusing' the script. I actually searched through a couple hundred forums looking for other non premier forums using the simple bullet style & found posts that had that same line, double space line format & couldn't reproduce it on any of them, so like I said, I think there's something specific to that forum causing it to behave badly w/the ads. Generally this sort of thing is caused by bad HTML in the header, but I can't say for certain in this case. It takes me too long to separate the customized HTML from what N54 generates themselves for me to sort through it all....

I have been trying to find it also and for the life of me, am at a stand still.

Again, thank you so very much for checking into this. It is nice to know that it wasn't something simple that I was going to slap myself on the forehead and have to admit my total ignorance to something obvious!
