I prefer the Index-type format of N54 over the 'scroll-down' format of WP (and all blogs).
True, the 'Recent Posts' blog feature at WP is helpful in this regard, but it doesn't have the extended use of the complete indexing as you go of the N54 Forums.
N54 does have a choice of a Blog format, and several others. I tried the N54 'Blog' format for a while and went back to the Ultra option.
Apparently, however, there are technical differences and considerations as to just what constitutes a "Blog," as far as search engines, etc. go.
In my opinion, the Blogs are missing the boat by not providing a choice in the format for their blogs users. Another example of N54 doing it right!
