Serial number info

Response to 18 'Sea Skiff

This info is from the Chris Craft Essential Guide, by Jerry Conrad. Let me know if I need to write you a letter (based on my research and familiarity with this model) and send an image of my serial number. The more info you present to the State, the easier it may be on you to register your boat. It is certainly NOT unusual for people to mess up the registration number with the serial number. I'll bet you the number you noted was the Oklahoma registration number.

This very cool and rare 18' hull was only built one year in the green and with the Sea Skiff badge. Only 50 were ever built, so your Skiff is more rare than mine by a sum total of 30 units. Mine was built in 1966 (70 units) and 1967 (10 units). This just makes your boat all that much more fun to own.

Here is the 18' fiberglass Sea Skiff data

SERIAL NUMBERS:
GUAZ-18-001 to GUAZ-18-050 (1966) Only year of production for the Sea Skiff
Huge 35 gal fuel capacity
Chris Craft 225B is the only motor offered.
7'-7" beam
18'-2" Length
2315 pounds

Here is the 18' fiberglass Corsair Sea V
(Same hull, different color and badge, minor trim difference)
130 of these were built, and that is still a low number.
These are (also) very cool boats, I have never seen one of these either.

SERIAL NUMBERS:
ORAZ-18-001 to ORAZ-18-055 (1965)
ORBZ-18-001 to ORBZ-19-050 (1966)
ORCZ-18-001 to ORCZ-18-025 (1967)

28 gal fuel capacity
Chris Craft 225B, Eaton 140, OMC HUE 150 power options
7'-7" beam
18'-7" length (could be a typo, odd that it is different than the skiff)
2340 pounds

Regards,

Paul
