Wes what carb do you have the afb or avs? If it is the avs you may want to check the air valve secondary adjustment which controls the openning of the secondaries. spec for that is to loosen the set screw and let the plate open all the way by gravity then turn the screw that controls the spring for the plate 2 turns after the plate just starts to close.
