"Make it happen"

Response to In my sites

This is the sort of thing one of my former employers used to tell me, "make it happen" (and I did !)

If you're a boating nut, which we ALL know you are, this is something that we should all "make happen". The event will carry us through the rest of the year, with acquaintances, memories of seeing what other people did with their classic boats, etc.

For instance, I met Matt ODonnell, John Kloka, Tim Toth, Terry Hart, and Mark Weller one time (just to drop a few names). I was aboard CHANGING CHANNELS, KLOKANUTS, BELLA DONNA, DUNROIN, and Five O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE, and I can now say those guys are all my friends, and I remember the details of each of their boats too ! I'm really looking forward to seeing them all again. Personally, I'm looking forward to meeting you, and many others that I don't know personally, and also meeting those guys I now know again.

That guy Chris Wade, for instance, you know..........the guy who was a male model for Chris Craft back when they were photographing the then new XK-22, lol. (Sorry Chris, your legacy lives on?) Ha! (I think he's also in the Harley Davidson brochures too, but don't tell anyone.)

Events like these allow people to look at identical boats and see what a nice chrome job will do for the boat, what type of varnish to use here and there, inside and out. Galley mods, engine issues, whatever. It's a huge exchange of information and good will in a concentrated short time.

Hope to see you there, we're booked and wouldn't miss it for the world!

regards,

Paul
