Thanks for the info. I will call later this evening regarding the wiring and I have several questions. My engines are 1987s. Forum responses to my questions have me a little confused. Earlier when I goggled "RPMs for crusader 454's", I found the 5500 number, and also a 5000. I was looking for a max number for prop determination with the 2:1 B/W trans. Now, I am guessing this must be for auto racing and not a number for marine use. Clearly, the experience and advice of our Captains is different, with cruising RPMs best at 3000 to 3200 with a max of 4000 for short bursts of need. I was under the impression that crusaders are "supped up" versions of the 454's that have a lot of "bolt on hp". When I pick up the engines, I will send pictures that provide more information. 'Till then I shall only dream....
