Tournament vs.Sports Cruiser

Can anyone explain the difference between the 1969-1972 35'Sports Cruiser, Commander, and the 1973-1977 36'Sports Cruiser/Tournament Fisherman? I am restoring a Tournament that is suppose to weigh 22,600 - 25,300 lbs. My neighbor has a 35' 1969 Sports Cruiser he claims weighs about 13,890 lbs. Except for being one foot long, and less freeboard forward and aft the boats look very similar. I can't explain why my boat would weigh +$10,000 lbs. Any information is appreciated.
