I am having a terrible time getting this motor to cool.
What I have done to it.
The Intake gaskets are oriented correctlty, small orifice to the front large passage back
The water pump was sent off to and rebuilt
all new gaskets
Themostats new and tested.
The new diverters in block oriented up
The engine gets to about 210 deg with a 180 stat and I am not getting water flow. I keep blowing rear pump seal gasket when I rev the motor a little. Do you think the water pump impeller could have been put on backwards. I am out of Ideas!!
Please all suggestions Welcome
Thanks
Steve

Have you pressure tested the complete system, including cap? Think there is any chance of a blown head gasket? Has the radiator been flow tested? There are no block thermostats, correct? Main thermostat is not put in backwards?
Do you have an old pump to check for impeller orientation? On some applications, coolant has to be routed through the heater core. It acts as a safety bypass in case the WP bypass is defective in some manner.
