Dear Theo, Do you have good photos of an original Super Marauder Tripower fuel pump? One of the lincoln Merc suppliers in FL is selling these replica pumps and I would like to know if they look close.

You can see them on Ebay and I am interested but want to know if they look close before contacting them. Having never seen one of the orginal (rare as hens teeth) made in 1958 fuel pumps before, I wanted to know if you or your readers could verify they are good copies.

Just bought 58 Linc. convert H8YG404832 and starting to rebuild /gather goodies for rebuild.
Very informative site. Keep up the good work.
Cheers, KarlKj.

Yes ....Herb reproduced the top part and supplies the lower body, manuals etc.
Keep in mind however there are some design differences in the pump itself. This pump produces more pressure than the standard pump
I have an original factory setup. There is also a legal issue in the fact that this item my not be licensed by Ford motor company ..........
Yes it does look like the original.

There is no legal issue to manufacturing replacement parts

The only legal issues are if an item has a trademark or a copyright issue. There is no text so no copyright and so unless it has a Ford logo there is no trademark. Federal consumer protection law make it legal to manufacture cheap copies (or good ones) of any car part as long as they meet DOT standards if there are any. That is why there is such a huge amount of cheap offshore replacement body parts for cars. the manufacturers don't like it but Ralph Nader does! The only benefit to Ford licensing is if the part contains a Ford logo or part number you are allowed to use it and there is also some credibility along with licensing but for something like this it is neither required or helpfull in selling the product. Yes My Factory Original piece appears to be a sand casting. The outside is buffed to a brilliant luster.
The piece I developed several years ago was cut from a solid piece of aluminum and machined using a CNC machine Its a precision piece with the addition of an "o" ring seal for the spin on fuel filter.
I also designed special heat shields for the carburetors with built in spark plug holders. The carburetors were re- Engineered and calibrated by Holley at the factory have made new wings nuts from stainless steel With a matching set with extensions for the chrome valve covers. I’m working on aliuminum valve covers right now The originals have the "M" for Marauder or Mercury. I have a newer design that uses steel gaskets with a rubber bead all around .for improved sealing. And a plate that’s interchangeable with a Lincoln star, Lincoln Marauder LM, Mercury M, or Bulldozer.

Hope to see those valve covers with the Lincoln star! I'd be interested but there is another person doing the same thing in CA. He will have the 'M' or the 'L' he is making custom for the rocker covers. Can't wait to see how it turns out. The fuel pump looked real nice. Is that fuel pump only good for cars with a/c??? I read its an a/c fuel pump unless ac meant something else??? I was trying to figure out what the a/c has to do with the fuel pump. I am taking mine off since it does not work but might use it again someday but wanted to know about that fuel pump on a car without air. Thanks.

The valve covers have a blank space and you simply place the emblem on that you like and screw it in place. its held in by 4 socket head counter sunk screws…
As for the pump my car has the factory Tri-Power with Air Conditioning. There were 2 pumps Available
Carter part 3040S and AC Delco part 4441. My factory Tri-Power pump is made from the AC pump.
Using the adapter Part #PB8M 9352-A to become Part #PB8M 9350-A Pump assy.

Not to get off subject but do you have any photos of the tri power Lincoln you have on line anywhere??? I'd love to see it! I thought they only made the tri power in 1958 only. Post the link or email it to me or just send some photos! Thanks for the info on the pump. I have an electric pump on there now so I might need to get one a different one with a higher flow for the 3x2 set up...need to read the article first to see if that info is in there. Thanks again.
