While in So. Cal, I visited Slover' Porting and spent some time with Michael Slover. He has adaptors to fit 460 ford manifolds to the MEL. I saw them. Nice pieces. Billet aluminum, clean machine work. 350 dollars, with gaskets.
He also has 8 two barrel set up. Freshly cast aluminum 550 dollars. Looks better than the Edelbrock log manifolds. I have ordered both.
He will have tall aluminum Rocker covers shortly. His father used to race 430's many years ago and stiil plays with a "Devon". A fiberglass bodied car with 430 Lincoln drive train. I have never heard of it. Made in the early 60's. Slover's phone is 818 768 0155. About 10 minute drive, 2 exits from Burbank airport, a Southwest Airlines hub if anybody out there travels through. Yeah on the phone with me a while back he was a real nice guy and straight forward. I did not know that included gaskets, so thats a plus. I thought I'd have to use that form-a-gasket RTV stuff. Bolts will be the other thing but I am sure you can find some or cut to length. Post some pics once you get them in I really want to see them! If you got the 460 adapters and log manifold you must be working on 2 engines?? How close will the 2 be in power or in 2 totally different worlds. I have a spare 462 I'd like to compare with the 3x2 and the 460 adapters with a single plane intake and Holly carb. Thats not for a looong time though. Once car at a time. Good luck and cant wait to see those adapters especially on the car! Take care.

John

So that is an actual cast 8x2? Not a U fab?

It is a cast aluminum piece with "Slover" and somebody cast into it. Machined surfaces with choice of carb bolt pattern. Nice looking. I will post a picture when it arrives. I think it will polish up nicely. TJR

They take later heads and put bigger valves in them. I'm going to try and dig the post up on the different head types. He says the runners are better.
