I was just wondering if anyone has specs for a 462, kinda like the 430 sheets on here. I was just wanting to compare rod journal sizes and stuff, without going out and getting a 462 and tearing it down, heh.
Also, does anyone know how far a 430 can be stroked? The journals are .4 inches larger than a BBC, so if you could get the crank offset there is a possibility of getting another .8 inch stroke if you used chevy 6.135 rods. In theory, if you had enough room, that would allow a 430 to be stroked to 4.5" and using stock pistons give about 522ci. The shorter rods would leave the pistons about .065 down further in the block and should give near the same comp as the standard 10:1.
I get bored and start wondering what all can be done with these motors, lol. If anyone is interested, I have a line on a rebuilt 462 in Ohio, I'd love to get it, but i have nowhere to store it right now. Guess that's enough rambling for now, throw out some ideas, maybe we can go crazy and put a good 500+ motor together and challenge some of those chevy guys.

...in below posts putting a 462 rotating asm. into an earlier 430. I have read articles of the 462 being taken out to the mid-500's.

I have yet to find machinist's spec sheets on these engines but am still searching...

Despite how many times it has been repeated, when the crank's rod journal diameter is offset-ground to a smaller size, the offset distance is the stroke increase.
MEL > BBC = 2.600" > 2.200" = +.400", not .800".
