Did the 1959-60 Ford Thunderbirds with the 430cid engines have anything between the head and exhaust manifold from the factory? Maybe a metal heat shield or an actual gasket? If so, are they still available anywhere? My 1960 2 owner car has metal heat shields, but the 1st owner had the heads off (reworked) so I don't know if these are original. If found enough data to make this only MORE confusing. LOL!!
Thanks in advance...

The FORD MPC lists gaskets for the exhaust C0SZ 9448-A (RH) and C0SZ 9448-B (LH). I believe these to be metal as they are FORD specfic. The LINC/MERC had composition gaskets. The compostion gaskets are still available from FEL-PRO and BEST GASKET.
