Does anyone know where I can get a new wedge carb spacer plate? mine is shot. DO they happen to make different angles? I need about half the angle as the stock one for a 59 tbird. Thanks.

WEDGED CARBURETOR SPACER

The OEM PN you need (seeking) is B9SZ 9A589-A if you happen to stumble across one at a swap meet.

Yours was designed to level the carb bowls at installation due to the extreme mounting angle (final) of the engine/trans.

There are wedged spacers made for racing where the carb is kept at level during a hard launch.

Do a search on MOROSO, etc. TRANS-DAPT has one (PM 2028) with an eight dgree angle but one end is 1 13/16" H. The OEM is listed at .12"

How is the build going other than this?

Its going fine. Always little issues like this or the MSD distributor not fitting. Brian is going to make that work for me, so one thing at a time. I think I need around a 4 degree spacer, but the stock one will work. I can't add any height to it, not much clearance as it is. The car did not come with an original 430, but someone put it in without using the stock motor mounts. I bought the correct ones from Jbird and they fit like a glove. Good news is that the C6 bolted right up- without the torque converter or the flex plate, but I thik it will work.

I try to keep up on the website, not much going on right now, when we pulled it out of the paint shop, I lost my place so should get back to it next month. Lots to do, no time (or money) to do it. I am hoping to be on the road next summer. As we do stuff, I try to keep up the website.

Maybe on the spacer (once the car is near completion and the stance is as desired) you can figure what angle spacer is needed and have a new phenolic spacer milled down. Any chance of your posting a photo of the old spacer on your website or here?

Of course, there will be a lot of us wanting to know the results of the C6 installation.

I also came across a random post somewheres that one guy used FE mounts to sit one down on the crossmember the FE sits on instead of using the forward mounts. Next time you are under it, take a gander will 'ya?

Keep us posted.

That is how mine was originally mounted. It might have been me. They had hogged out the mount holes on the crossmember mounts and used the FE mounts. I went back to j code mounts. Unforntunately, the motor was pulled when I got it, so no more details than that. They did use the spacer though. I'll look for a picture of the crossmember and take a picture of the spacer.

mount choices

Hi Guys,I am attempting to put a 65 430 into my 59 bird,as the block has no forward mounting position,i am using mid mount, standard lincoln mounts for the 65 and the cross-member mounts stock to the 352 engine.I have other concerns to you guys as mine is right hand drive now and steering box from aussie falcon sits higher above the chassis rail so is in line with exhaust outlets.Custom extractors will be made.Because i am running an adapter which is about 1½ inches thick and a th700r4 auto(Please...no laughing),it's a strong box with good ratios and as common as anything in Australia, anyway, the shape of the bell housing means it almost hits firewall in stock position so may have to move engine a couple of inches to the front for more clearance. As it is though,my carburettor sits perfectly level as engine lays back on slight angle,I was going to ask this question of the forum but now don't have to....thank you. Here are a couple of shots of my project, enjoy.
