Came across a marine 430. Uses FE bellhousing. I need Motor mounts and nobody seems to list them and this block does not have usual bosses on side of block for standard auto mounts. Am I stuck with fabrication, or is there some used or old stock out there? TJR

Yes, anything that an FE would bolt to.

You have the early (1958) block which used forward mounts on the host chassis. What are you putting it in?

Below is a 59 block. It has the center mounting pad whereas the 58 has the forward mounting pad (the two bolt holes immediately above and forward of the insulator).

Is this how yours looks?

do not have bosses that mount, in your picture, is attached to. Mine only has the four bosses forward and above that are also shown on your picture. TJR

Will Have To Fabricate

The rear set of holes are the engine mounts and the front set are for accessory brakets. This block was only used (to the best of my knowledge) on 1958 models (and 59/60 BIRD) (the replacment block also retained the front mount position but it had to be tapped). The mount style allows them to sit on braces near the core support. You will have to fashion something to have it sit in a late chassis or trade that block for a 59/60 block (B9ME 6015-D).

The below engine is a 58 LINC mounted in a 57 BIRD. It shows how forward mounts are used;

This photo shows how a 58 LINC accepts the forward mounts;

The mid-mount allows them to be positioned at the cross-member as are most cars.

took a second look at the mounts on your picture. appears these are fabracated. Metal plate attached to the block appears to be non-stock. Am I wrong? TJR

Yes, those are fab. It is a 383 that was installed in a '57 BIRD.
