I seem to recall that the oil pump and pickup are interchangeable with the FE pumps but cannot confirm it with my parts books. Anybody know for sure? I want to use a high pressure FE pump. TJR

Yes most absolutely you can!! You have one of two options you can use it stock and get a longer drive rod made. if you try to use the stock mel it will shear it clean..If you go this route you might have to notch the pump and the crank to clear eachother(NOT THE BEST WAY BUT DEFFINITELY THE EASIEST.) Option 2 is the take the pump and ACURATELY machine the mating surface down by .09375 and then take the distributor and take the gear off and spin 90deg put back on farther up the shaft by .625 redrill hole and replace roll pin. The second route is the safest way with out having a new rod made. BUT you need to use the rod made for this HVHP pump as there is more drag on the rotor then a standard pump that at higher RPM you are liable to shear a stock type drive rod. Ive got the pump and rod for sale for 150. I am building 3 of these motors at the same time so ive got lots of parts done up for these things.
