I JUST found this place about 2 minutes ago, i look forward to browsing around. I just rebuilt (.030 over, Isky cam, Ported heads, 4bbl Intake) the 383 in my '59 Merc Monterey. I also need to find a 4bbl carb that will work. I'm looking forward to future disscussions. Ian

I just sold the Carter carb off a 58 383 but Autolite 4100,s Holley's and Carter AFB's fit the manifold.

Do an eBay search for 1959 Mercury 383 and you will find a load of parts.

i have a similar setup on my 63 linc, and i went with a holley 4150 model carb. It has the ford trans kickdown linkage and vacuum secondaries (model 4150 has mechanical secondaries)I had to use a 1 " spacer to make it clear the manifold and a low profile air cleaner, but the performance is superior to the old carter carb, any questions please let me know, luka
