Guys,I have a 430,The only numbers i can see on block are "E",4K31:1,C4VC.8010,very hard to see as casting is not too flash,I have a stamped number at the front that says 4L25J.Can anyone shed some light as to age of this engine? Also do 462 and 430 use the same con rods?.Can you buy rocker covers new or can you let me know where to go for second hand covers and oil pan.I need a spacer for the harmonic balancer, any ideas on places to get these bits would be awsome.

"Guys, I have a 430. The only numbers i can see on block are "E", 4K31:1, C4VC 8010, very hard to see as casting is not too flash. I have a stamped number at the front that says 4L25J. Can anyone shed some light as to age of this engine?"

The Casting I.D. should read as C4VE 6010 which would make it a 1964 casting. The Date Code confirms the casting date as 25AUG64.

"Also do 462 and 430 use the same con rods?"

No.

"Can you buy rocker covers new or can you let me know where to go for second hand covers and oil pan."

Only second hand. Either ask here or sometimes they come up on E-BAY.

"I need a spacer for the harmonic balancer, any ideas on places to get these bits would be awsome."

Again, ask here or search E-BAY.

The later 430 (1963) and 462 use the same connecting rod.
