I have been looking off and on for a 58 Merc for a while. I recently missed a nice 58 Montclair convert that was only a half-hour away from my house. Already was sold by the time I called. Anyway, I am still looking for a 58 Montclair--har top, conver, 2 doors or 4. Prefferably green, would like to find a car that originally had A/C. No Turnpike Cruiser back windows, I preffer more of a sloping back window, like the Montclair Phaeton body. Or a convert, of any color or body. Let me know if anyone knows of any that may be for sale. I am a Merc enthusiast, owning 4 classic Cougars, but I need something a little different and a 58 really appeals to me.

thanks is advance,
Mark Piechowski

The project accumulation revolution has left me with zero dough lately. When I had posted the message, I had some money burning a hole in my pocket. I guess if a 58 Merc is around in 2004 it should be around in 2005. Thanks for the replys. I am sorry that I cannot take action.

thanks,

I found a 58 Merc

Normally, I try not to look at E-Bay, but when I do I always do a search on 69-70 Cougar parts and 58 Merc stuff. Well, I happened to be in the right place at the right time I guess. Here is what was for sale: eBay item 2476742662 (Ends May-09-04 17:00:00 PDT) - Mercury : parklane
This happened to be a car that was better than what I was looking for. To be able to purchase this car I had almost enough value in some stocks that were doing nothing. It wasn't stuff that I was intending to sell, but to be able to make things happen, I had to sell all of them. Unfortunately, work has been slow, so now I am scrambling to make the mortgage payment.
I will pick up the car in the beginning of July. A friend is going to help me pick it up with his car trailer. It is a long distance from Minneapolis to Melbourne, Florida. But to compensate my friend for his time I am building him a C-6 for his 428 Cougar.
I am excited about this 58 Park Lane and since the 430 is out and apart I will become a regular at this site.
Again, I appreciated your responses to my original question, and maybe someday I will have a pair of 58 Mercs---I already own 4 classic Cougars.

thanks,
Mark Piechowski
