462 parts?

i'm building a 1961 Ford F100 and looking for an engine and transmission..
i have the option right now to go to a local salvage yard and pulling any engine or tranny for
$150 each..
my friend who builds derby cars just called me and said he would sell me a complete 462 out of a clean running 66 lincoln contenental with an origional 133k miles AND transmission for $300.
this is all very tempting but i'm worried about being able to find ANY parts for this car without spending years at swap meets or spending hundreds of dollars at machine shops for custom built parts
i'm not trying to make some crazy drag car or anything i just want a fast clean pro-street style truck.

any suggestions on what i should do?
and if anyone knows some sites i can look at for any type of parts?
