Response to Re: Jeff can you take a couple measurements on that intake?

John, thanks for measuring that, we take this kind of data for granted on the more common engines (289, 427, etc) but it is so rare to see real numbers on the MEL.

If your engine is apart, or if you have spares, can you measure those 462 intake ports? (widthxheight)

How much of a step is there at the top, from the intake manifold into the head?
At the bottom?
(In other words, is the port centerline the same or is the 462 centerline lower?)

The 429 vs 429scj is like this - the 429scj intake will bolt on and seal, but there is a mismatch - the intake port is bigger so the air rams right into a cast iron wall. It still works, because the 429scj intake is so much better, the mismatch doesn't hurt that much. But a mismatch (in the wrong direction) is just one more unknown.

I have the old 430 intake port down as 2.82" x 1.31", maybe if you or somebody knows the late 430 / 462 intake port dims they can post? (Exhaust dims too just to be sure!)

Thanks again and see below for my current calculations, the 6v should work even better on there if everything lines up and it's well tuned.
