I am informed that the Holman Moody TBird that "Won" Daytona in 59 had a stoker crank of 4.350 and ran rod journals of od 2.1 diameter.
2.2 X 2.2 X 4.350 X 3.14 X 8 = 528.
4.230 is the max we can get from 462 crank using 2.2 dia rods. 514 cubes.
I am informed that 4.4 is about the max bore on a 430, and even then, it must be sonic check as not all blocks can be bored that much.
I am still looking for a standard 462 crank to offset grind. I would pay 1000 for a billet crank. Saves alot of time and cash while running through core engines. Let us know how that works out. TJR |
