Response to no frankenstein

I completely understand. I will have the torque to substitute for lower gears. Its like a truck I was looking at with 3.73 but it had 635 ft lbs of torque and pulled better than another truck with 4.11 or 4.56s. It has the most torque and the higher gears compensated for better fuel economy. Just so the 3.50s are not too much I would prefer them. I have a lot of hills to climb in Pittsburgh and tons of stop signs. It would be nice to get out of the hole but not get horrible top end power. No problem on the swapping, I do not think Frankensteining it is a good idea either. Just need to find a good 3rd member with set up for the 9 3/8" axle. When I read the results from WerbyFord's computers...3.25s can get me a decent 1/4 mile in the 14s...might just want to stick with that??? Better highway and like you said I have the torque to get off the line anyways. Thanks a lot and I have more researching to do. I appreciate the help a lot! If you think 3.55s is too low for enjoyment on the highway and street/strip for the power band I will have...let me know and I will consider the 3.25s. All I can say is my 06 GMC Sierra has 3.73, but nothing like the power the MEL will have and my truck gets 21.5 on the highway and is alrite off the line so its a bas comparison. This is why I need some help deciding. I thought lower gears would be horrible but I look at my truck and its 310hp and it does pretty good. Maybe 3.50s or 3.55s will not be so bad. Take care
