Response to Hint as to the cam spec post? Cant find!

 

The SUPER MARAUDER option was not released until APR 59 and barely at that. Both engines used the same cam and I imagine the biggest difference would have been in the distributor timing curve.

I would also imagine the MEL was overrated in that period.

OK... There were two origional camshafts it appears (58 MERC MM), one for the 383 and the other for the 430 (there may have been a different cam for the 410). Both are mentioned being replaced by one superseding cam (PN 5750914) in a 12-20-57 TSB-



FORD does not give the timing events of it' cams in a format more familiar with aftermarket. I do have the specs and will scan and post if desired. MEL had a lot of valvetrain problems during the first year of production.
