Response to 430 Differences, 1958 360hp v 375hp v 400hp

"1. Was there any difference between the 1958 430/375hp Lincoln engine and the 430/360hp Mercury engine? (If so, what was it??)

2. Is it true that the only difference between the 430/360hp and the 430/400hp was the intake and the 3x2v?

My search did remind me that the origin of the famous "Holley List 1850" was in fact none other then the 430-4v of 1958!

Hey, if you're up for a 3rd question:

3. What color were these engines in the Merc and the Lincoln?"
______________________________________________________________

1. There was no major difference other than carburetion type and exhaust manifold type.

2. Yes, just the intake and carburetors. There were other slight differences, i.e. the fuel pump.

The HOLLEY 4150 was introduced on the 57 FORD.

3. The 58 LINC 430 was a green with yellow rocker covers and the 58 MERC 430 was gold.
