Response to Getting power out of a MEL 462

The trouble with the CONT is that any available performance intake/carburetion will require a hood scoop. Most performance parts were designed for the 58/60 MEL cars that had a normal hood line.

The 462 heads and intake flow very well even with their designed carb height to fit the lowered hood line. You are more or less restricted to a carb update, cam regrind and an ignition upgrade. Just these modifications will give you noticeable power improvement.
