"You wrote "Are the roller rockers adjustable (intended for solid cam FE)" and I thought you may want to know that adjustable rocker arms were used with hydraulic lifters as well and they are the same rockers as used with solid lifters. Not all FE's with hydraulic lifters had fixed rockers and ford did not "intend" for adjustable rockers to be a solid lifter only thing. For example, 428 SCJ was a hydraulic lifter engine and had adjustable rockers as did many (not all) 58 Ford 332 and 352 engines.

It seems we are always at one another...
The 428CJ/SCJ had a non-adjustable valvetrain from the factory. Maybe the initial release (Winternationals) had them, but regular production did not. The 1958 332 and 352 early production was solid, and changed to hydraulic later in the production year. The only other adjustable valvetrain (other than 390HP-406-427) were the PI 390/428 with solids. Valve adjustment on a FE (hydraulic) is performed with pushrod length, as I am sure you know.
I also understand the use of adjustable rocker arms on a hydraulic cam.
Please provide documentation if I am wrong.
As you know, the rocker shafts are different between solid and hydraulic. This is what I am trying to establish to help determine proper oil supply. It seems these tech questions always leave out the most important information needed to help.
When is that BIRD going to be running?
