I am thinking about using a 462 in my 59 ranchero. However, I want to use the 58 block that I have so I can use the FE standard trans or my current FE C-6.
Questions:
1) Are the main and rod journals the same size between the 430 and the 462?
2) If I bore the 430 out to the 462 bore size, will the 462 rotating assembly fit into the 430?

If this will interchange OK, I am going to offset grind the 462 crank down to fit something smaller (maybe SBF) to get a stroke out of it. Would like to move out to about 500 CI just for the S&G's.

Anyone know the answer to the above?
