Response to Is there a desireable piston dome to deck clearance?

You do not have an actual 410 piston to take specs from, right? Does WISECO have engineering drawings?

The shop manual (58 MERC) give me installed piston height but these values are for the 383 and 430. It also allows for the two deck height blocks.

The 410 specs will be in the 1958 EDSEL manual.

Instead of lowering the piston in the bore to allow for reduced CR, would it be better to modify the piston dome (fly cut valve reliefs) or use double head gaskets (as described in the manual)?

Please post here what you decide on as the information is greatly needed.
