Response to HOT ROD LINCOLN

my linc ( i'll post some pics soon!) is not your fathers lincoln (lol). Its a chop top, no windows,no a/c,stripped and modified version of a hot rod(stripped wieght 4500 lbs ). It idles at 600 rpm shaking, rattling and snarling, but while driving runs sweet, with an almost japaneese like spooling up of power. The roller components are noticable in fluid delivery( although noisy at idle, .030 lash) I'm positive there are no vacuum leaks as the motor is new and we've sprayed fluid all around the base of carb, intake , etc looking for signs of it. I still have the vacuum advance on the distributor ( pertronix under cap) and timing with a vacuum guage didn't net any better results than 7". New hoses and vacuum lines installed although i will go back over them this weekend to be sure there are no leaks.I would like to know about a trans guy who can help me(im in san diego area) and i need to adjust kickdown and other "finishing touches" I don't have the vacuum "cans" on the car either, but i might try adding them to help boost pressure.I learned all the FE components and tips from this forum and am VERY gratefull of the expertise and knowledge. Any other suggestions please let me know, lincparts,.
