Response to 430 Piston installation

I have installed many a set of pistons into a MEL and have never used a ring compressor. The chamber is slightly larger (about 30 to 40) over the cylinders and is slghtly tapered. I slide the piston up to the bottom ring gland, push the rings from the bottom up towards the top of the piston, slide the piston in about an inch and then using my fingers, I slowly squeeze the rings in and slide the piston in to the next ring. Do this three times and your home free. No Sweat. If the block is bored, the chamber should also be bored out to remain some 30 to 40 over the cylinder. If this is not done,,,ya got issues.
