Compressor Mod

Response to Special Ring Compressor
 

I guess that is one reason I was advised to use the compressor upside down-to get the operating mechanism out of the way. I could cut my compressor so that it matches the angle of the deck, but how do I keep it from wedging in the combustion chamber area? Any idea as to what the Special Ford tool looked like?
