i have problems whit the idle adjustment.
i has adjust the timing exactly, next i adjust the two mixture screws and after i try to increase the idle whit the big adjust screw in the middle of the mixture screws.
but the idle change just a small range (100-150rpm) although the full adjustment ,is it normal ?"
Hi Olaf! Welcome. Read the two pages below and see if it helps you. Do you have the correct shop manual for your car?
"and what about the hot idle compensation valve ?
i never saw that valve open. its close every time i inspect."
This is a safety feature. It only opens when the engine begins idling hot (on a spring). It allows more air into the engine hence a higher idle RPM. It will shut once the spring cools off.
Also, bad manifold vacuum (leak), erratic distributor operation and possibly a stretched timing chain can result in idle problems.
"is by this carb some other part responsible for the idle ?"
Does yours have an electric/vacuum throttle kicker or just a dashpot? These need to be adjusted correctly also.
"i hope u can help me,its not possibly to find some help in germany for this typ of carb."
The founder of this board, Theo, resides in or just outside of BERLIN.
"what do u think ?,how much is some holes in the mufflers responsible for rough idle,
i have 3 small holes in the mufflers but its sound so good, i dount want to change that"
I've seen lose baffles cause a rough idle.
