The engine will go in. The later engine may have two mounting pads vs. the one on the early block. The mounting holes are still in the same position.
You need to verify the transmissions as being the same. Both should be CRUISE-O-MATICS, but may have a slight variance in design between the years.
I am not 100% sure of this, but you may have to keep the early FEAD (Front Engine Accessory Drive) to keep the generator over the later alternator (unless you decide to upgrade). Same for P/S pump, early should be EATON, later THOMPSON. So don't get rid of the early engine until the swap is complete.
The later engine will also have PCV system which is a plus.
As for the P/S system, the 62 uses the BENDIX external linkage style while the 65 uses a P/S box. No easy interchange there. If you want power, you will have to find a 60/64 FORD to salvage the early system.
