Why is the front end wandering on my 67 Fairlane?
Back ground, Just finished complete frontend rebuild, new items control arms upper and lower, coil springs with 1/2 coil cut off, tie rods, ball joints, idler arms ,p.s. valve rebuilt, converted to wilwood disc brakes, 16 wheels.
All I can find I don't like is slack in the ball and socket at the pitman arm which is also new. how do I get rid of this slack?

Has anyone had this wandering problem and found the cause? Any suggestion will help Thanks.

Check the caster, here is an explanation I found on the web.

Positive caster angle is when the top of the steering axis it tilted rearward. Negative caster angle is when the top of the steering axis is tilted forward. Negative caster can cause difficulty in returning out of a turn and wandering & weaving at high speeds. If the vehicle has unequal caster, it can cause the vehicle to pull from side to side. And zero degree caster is when the top of the steering axis is exactly vertical.
